Detective Joanne Terranova reaches out to her ex-boyfriend, the fun-loving Devin Grant, seeking his assistance to gather evidence against their former college friend, Nicole Ryan, who has inherited her late father's criminal empire. Despite his complicated feelings for both women from his past, Devin, still smitten with Joanne, finds it hard to refuse her request. Meanwhile, David Bannion, a candidate for D.A. focused on anti-corruption, poses a significant challenge for Nicole. As each of them strategizes to bring her down through power plays, manipulation, or romance, Nicole proves to be as fierce in battle as she is in seduction.
