Episode Overview

Contractor David Booth introduces us to a "rag and bone" collector who gathers scrap materials from construction sites using his horse and cart. He describes the intricate scaffolding setup before taking us up to the flat, where the roof has been removed and bricklayers are busy extending the mansard sides. Our master carpenter arrives to teach the British crew about pneumatic nailing, and he and David head to The Building Centre, a showroom filled with building supplies and design inspiration. Meanwhile, architect Trevor Clapp and homeowner Carla discuss how the flat's floor plan has developed. In the end, David and homeowner Jeremy explore a kitchen design store together.
