This Old House (1979)
S17E04 The Salem House - 4
Episode Overview
On a sweltering July day, the team tackled the existing children's bathroom and the upcoming master bath. They uncovered a flooring system that likely wouldn't hold the weight of two bathrooms filled with fixtures and tiles, prompting them to reinforce it before diving into the rough plumbing. Meanwhile, on the roof, mason Lenny Belleveau worked on reflashing and repointing the chimneys, replacing an inadequately constructed cricket and sealing it with a rubber membrane. Painting contractor Mike McManus gave the building a thorough power wash, while architecture students took measurements for "as-built" drawings for the architects. Architect Pamela Hawkes visited the site and contemplated a proposal to cut through the rear ell of the house to add a porte cochere for better backyard access and to address the parking dilemma.
