This Old House (1979)
S18E24 The Tucson House - 6
Episode Overview
Before we head to the job site, we stop by the Air Force's AMARC, an extensive collection of decommissioned planes stored in the Tucson desert, either for parts, storage, or dismantling. Meanwhile, at the Meigs' home, the courtyard is being adorned with Mexican tile, new mesquite kitchen cabinets are installed, and poured concrete countertops are being created for the first time on This Old House. Tom Klijian has crafted stunning floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in black walnut for the library. Viewers are treated to a look at Tucson's straw bale homes—one completed and one in progress—guided by expert Matts Myhrman and builder John Woodin, highlighting this eco-friendly construction method. Back at the site, a gorgeous set of glass doors completes the steam shower.
