This Old House (1979)
S18E25 The Tucson House - 7
Episode Overview
After a visit to Tucson’s historic Hotel Congress, established in 1919 and once a hideout for John Dillinger in 1934, we head back to the Meigs' home. The driveway features concrete pavers that, while uniform in size, showcase a variety of colors, creating a durable cobblestone-like effect. We examine the gas barbecue in the outdoor kitchen, and inside, cabinetmaker James Vosnos completes the stunning mesquite cabinetry. Meanwhile, James Murdock puts the final touches on the "endless" pool, as NCAA swimmer Sean Pepper gives it a test run. Our plumbing and heating expert inspects the house's water treatment system, then takes viewers on a tour of Tucson, highlighting the city's ongoing water challenges. Lastly, our host explores a new privacy glazing in the master bath that can switch from clear to opaque with the flick of a switch, all while flooring contractors put the finishing touches on the library's floor.
