This Old House (1979)
S19E26 The San Francisco House - 7
Episode Overview
The series finale of the San Francisco project opens at the Marin County Civic Center, the only government building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. There, Richard teams up with our master carpenter to tend to a small garden patch outside the church. Afterward, Richard learns about homeowner Mark Dvorak's innovative front-loading washing machine, which conserves 60% of electricity and 40% of water compared to traditional top-loaders. Our master carpenter works on a window trim made from a wood fiber and resin composite, while Richard inspects the chapel's finishing touches, including privacy shades, a cleanup with a backpack vacuum, and the application of a rich dark stain on the floor. The following day, homeowner Laurie Ann Bishop sets up the new security system with fingerprint recognition. We also check in with general contractor Dan Plummer, who is compiling his second-floor punch list, while Mark proudly shows Richard the completed kitchen and lighting design.
