The master carpenter outlines the lines for the subslab ductwork in his workshop, while the team removes the barn's old shingles. They plan to install a shingle panel system for the new siding. Tom Silva introduces his new jobsite trailer, which comes with an office and secure storage. A surveyor is busy preparing a certified plot plan, as excavation begins around the main house for the kitchen foundation and a perimeter drain next to the rubblestone foundation. Inside the barn, the master carpenter installs a new post to prepare for the upcoming garage, having previously set one-piece footing forms and used a waterborne laser level for stable bases, with concrete delivered by a small truck. In the future media room, the crew safely removes a lally column with jacks and a cripple wall before placing a flitch beam made of laminated veneer lumber and steel.
