Landscape designer Stephanie Hubbard collaborates with Roger Cook to carefully position the new plants and trees. Inside, master carpenter Tom Silva consults with mill owner Charlie Wilson about the vertical grain loblolly pine and quartersawn white oak flooring provided for the project. Meanwhile, our host visits a local shop where expert Steve Boodakian shares insights on Oriental carpets, alongside Tibetan carpet weaver and repairer Jampa Tenzing, who showcases live demonstrations. Back at the site, Tom installs a custom mahogany front door equipped with hand-cast period brass hardware. The team then explores the recently completed Dream House by Robert A. M. Stern in Connecticut, before checking on the wainscoting installation and hanging a “hidden” door with concealed hinges, discussing plans for cabinetry to conceal the living room's flat-screen TV when not in use.
