This Old House (1979)
S23E24 The Manchester House - 24
Episode Overview
With the deadline fast approaching, the house is bustling with work. Flooring contractor Pat Hunt meticulously installs a laser-cut wood floor medallion designed like a compass rose, while our master carpenter pieces together the inglenook components on-site. Today's focus is on the curved flanking benches supported by turned legs, and Steve gets a chance to explore the New Yankee Workshop. The master carpenter also shares a clever technique from Dick Silva for shaping the curved trim around the inglenook, using flexible expanded polyurethane planks shaped in a molding machine. Meanwhile, plumbers Richard Trethewey and Richard Bilo tackle the challenge of reviving the old oval sink. As the kitchen nears completion, project manager Doug Kutz tours Steve around, showcasing the installation of the final large piece of honed green granite.
