Murder in Mind (2001)

Episode Overview

After discovering a newspaper article about a paedophile residing in their neighborhood, close friends Liam, David, and Jack feel compelled to safeguard their community. Fueled by a few drinks at their local pub, they decide to confront the man, intending to deliver a “friendly warning” that would convince him to leave. However, their plan takes a disastrous turn when David accidentally delivers a fatal blow, resulting in the man collapsing lifelessly before them. In a panic, Liam quickly devises a cover-up to erase any forensic evidence from the scene. They each set up their alibis and go their separate ways—Liam heading off to his night shift as a police officer. The next day, PC Liam Taylor is called to assist DCI Colin Duggan with the investigation into the suspicious death, seeing this as a chance to stay ahead of the unfolding situation. As the investigation progresses, Jack's name surfaces as a potential suspect, while David starts to show signs of cracking under pressure.
