Episode Overview
Despite increasing strife among the races, Pasquinel, McKeag, and the Native Americans maintain a successful trading partnership. Clay Basket gives birth to Pasquinel’s two sons, Jacques and Marcel, while in St. Louis, Lise welcomes his daughter, Lisette. As Pasquinel remains fixated on finding Lame Beaver's gold, McKeag and Clay Basket share a hidden affection for one another. However, Clay Basket feels bound by her marriage to Pasquinel, preventing her from expressing her true feelings to McKeag.
