Ed Curwin (STEVE KANALY), a busy trucking company owner, struggles to connect with his intellectual 16-year-old son Ron (LANCE KERWIN). Concerned about his son's lack of masculinity, Ed arranges for Ron to meet Claire Thompson (PHYLLIS DAVIS), a prostitute. Ron rejects Claire, who then introduces him to a younger escort in a hotel lounge. In a twist of fate, Ron mistakenly approaches a vice-squad officer (ANN GILLESPIE), leading to a tense night in jail with his furious father. Peter helps them reconcile. Meanwhile, Christine learns that bickering hotel staff Karen (CARLENE WATKINS) and Sam (TOM SMOTHERS) are long-lost pen pals.
