Movie producer Steve Cutler coerces Lauren Webb by threatening to expose her past appearances in his soft-core porn films unless she secures funding for his upcoming project. When Lauren is unable to get financial support from her boss, Byron Comstock, Steve reveals her secret to her husband, Tom, who immediately leaves her. In a moment of vulnerability, Lauren confesses to Comstock and offers her resignation, but he compassionately refuses to let her go. Meanwhile, Cassie Ray, a young single mother, struggles with the decision to give her baby up for adoption to Larry and Gail McLain. With help from her friend Mark, Cassie tracks down the baby's father, Eugene, leading to an emotional reunion that results in the couple reclaiming their child from the McLains.
