Episode Overview
At a police chiefs' convention, Mrs. Cabot rekindles a connection with her old friend Brian O'Connell, a recent widower from Atlantic City. Their friendship quickly evolves into romance, leading to an intimate night together. As thoughts of marriage surface, Mrs. Cabot realizes the challenges of being a police chief's wife, prompting them to opt for a fishing trip in Canada instead. Meanwhile, college junior Nick Miller secretly meets Kay Radcliff, the mother of his roommate Todd. When Todd and his girlfriend Denise unexpectedly arrive, Todd is devastated, struggling to accept his mother's choices. Kay confronts him, urging him to mature. Simultaneously, Peter struggles to find a meaningful gift for Christine's third anniversary amid his busy responsibilities.
