Episode Overview
Christine spots a briefcase full of cash in a car driven by Scott Baker. Later, she discovers the now-empty briefcase in Peter's office, where he introduces her to his former girlfriend, Vanessa Clark. Christine grows wary of Vanessa, but Peter dismisses her concerns. Unbeknownst to Scott, Vanessa has persuaded him to embezzle $850,000 and is working with a fence named Steiner to launder the funds. Vanessa plans to escape to Hong Kong with the money. Meanwhile, Dan and Lisa Mason welcome Kim Lan, a 12-year-old Vietnamese orphan, into their home. Dan, a lawyer and Vietnam vet, has dedicated himself to helping Vietnamese children. However, Lisa is shocked to learn that Kim is Dan's biological daughter. Struggling with her emotions, Lisa initially resists Kim but eventually reconciles with her, helping Kim feel at home. Meanwhile, Dave and Megan attempt to set up a date for Mark.
