Episode Overview
Iconic actress Barbara Farrell emerges from her self-imposed isolation to confront her daughter, Livy. Livy’s lover and publisher, Ted, has convinced her to write a tell-all book exposing Barbara's harshness. Unknown to both women, Barbara's manager, Sidney, initially pitched the book idea to Ted as a strategy to revive Barbara's career. Seeking a profitable publicity scheme, Ted and Sidney attempt to orchestrate a public reconciliation between mother and daughter. It’s only when Livy and Barbara break free from their manipulative influence that they find common ground. Meanwhile, Christine struggles with her feelings for Dr. Evans, who seems ideal except for one thing: he isn’t Peter. When Dr. Evans surprises her at a hotel, Christine grows frustrated with Peter's indifference and craves a sign of his feelings. When Dr. Evans proposes, she turns him down.
