Episode Overview
Laura Temple has run away with businessman Michael Devlin, but she is carrying the child of sculptor Chad Wheeler, whom she left for Michael. When Chad asks Laura to marry him, she realizes her heart belongs to Michael, despite their shaky relationship. As they argue over the baby, Michael prepares to leave but is persuaded by Christine to reconsider. Just as he heads to the airport, he turns back, and the couple finds a way to reconcile. Meanwhile, Jason Fielding claims to be the illegitimate son of Mrs. Cabot's deceased husband. Although moved by his tale, Peter remains cautious and has Billy investigate Jason's past. During a marina outing, Jason expresses his dream of starting a boat chartering business, but Mrs. Cabot’s offer of financial assistance raises Peter's suspicions about Jason’s true intentions.
