Jake Cabot, feeling bitter about being pushed into an early retirement by his family, grapples with his feelings while his daughter-in-law, Victoria Cabot, manages the St. Gregory Hotel, a property he once ran with his late son. Encouraged by Victoria, Jake decides to venture back into hospitality by opening a country inn in Vermont. Meanwhile, aerobics instructor Angie Archer aims to attract wealth during the hotel’s 75th anniversary gala. Mistaking Mike Passmore, a tech company CEO, for a deliveryman, she initially pursues financier Garrett Hardy. However, a romantic connection develops with Mike, leading Angie to choose him over Garrett, only to later uncover Mike's true identity. Additionally, Christine uncovers that Tereza Cruz, a 19-year-old domestic worker who is pregnant and an undocumented immigrant, is hiding from immigration authorities, hoping her child will gain U.S. citizenship.
