Episode Overview
The hotel buzzes with excitement as Senator James Powell, a prominent presidential candidate, arrives. Christine, who previously met Powell on vacation, finds herself at the center of tabloid speculation as the alleged future bride. Peter has conflicted feelings about the situation. Billy's emotions are also mixed upon discovering that Powell's security detail is managed by his childhood friend, Ross Reynolds, who coldly ignores him when they cross paths. Meanwhile, Cheryl Dolan encounters Scott Osborne, a charming yet uncredentialed press photographer eager to gain fame from covering Powell. Unbeknownst to others, Scott's camera case hides a high-powered rifle, aimed at the senator. During a private dinner, Powell proposes to Christine, who requests time to consider her response. At Powell's banquet, Scott brandishes his weapon, prompting Billy to urgently warn Reynolds, who heroically tackles Powell to protect him.
