Episode Overview
Mary Mary Quite Contrary strolls down Sesame Street and dumps a heap of dirt near Oscar’s trash can. Gordon steps in, explaining that she can’t leave the mess. Mary Mary insists she’s on a mission to plant a garden filled with silver bells and cockle shells. Gordon points out that those aren’t living things and that gardens need real plants like fruits and flowers. Determined, Mary Mary decides to grow flowers using dirt, sunshine, and water. Later, Alan and Gina admire the lovely garden, but Oscar is not pleased and wants her to relocate it. As Mary Mary continues planting, Oscar hatches a plan to have his elephant, Fluffy, spray her with water, thinking it will drive her away. However, Mary Mary explains that water is essential for her flowers.
