Episode Overview

Philippe is in a dark place, grappling with his lover's imprisonment and his wife Henriette's recent miscarriage. Meanwhile, Louis, pleased with his victories over his foes, is eager to form an alliance with England to invade the Netherlands. He dispatches Henriette to London to meet her brother, Charles II, and negotiate the details. However, a conspiracy to assassinate her, led by Cassel and others, is exposed to the king by Montcalm, who is desperate to regain his position at court. Amidst this turmoil, Fabien narrowly avoids an assassination attempt, while Louis has a job offer for Philippe.
