Judge John Deed (2001)
S02E01 Political Expediency
Episode Overview
Title: Political Expediency Plot: When a call girl’s body is discovered in a dumpster, the chauffeur of an Arab sheikh becomes the prime suspect, but evidence suggests the sheikh's involvement in the murder. With the sheikh visiting London to finalize a massive aircraft deal, Deed finds himself under immense pressure from both the British authorities and the sheikh's entourage. The situation escalates when the prosecutor is murdered, leading Deed's partner, Jo Mills, to step in. Complicating matters further, Deed learns that his ex-wife, Georgina Channing, is engaged to Neil Haughton, the minister advocating for the aircraft order. As witnesses go missing and jurors are manipulated—reportedly by the government—Deed is approached with an enticing offer for an Appeal Court judgeship, a position he may feel compelled to accept.
