Episode Overview
William Garrow remains committed to defending those wronged by the system, successfully representing a prostitute accused of killing a client. Meanwhile, tensions linger between Garrow and Southouse until Mary Hamer arrives at Southouse’s office, desperately requesting Garrow’s help for her husband. Joseph Hamer has been stuck in Newgate Prison for months without any formal charges, suspected of sedition. The case draws the attention of Secretary of State Viscount Melville and Sir Arthur Hill, who conspire to bring high treason charges against him. Lady Sarah confesses to a heartbroken Garrow that their future together is bleak, but upon discovering her husband's involvement in the plot against Joseph, she takes action that alters the course of the trial.
