Gimme a Break! (1981)

Episode Overview

Nell and Angie head to a bar with hopes of meeting some new guys. Nell feels disheartened when none of the men seem to notice her. Returning home, the Chief decides to set her up with one of his officers, unaware that the officer is only helping the Chief to enhance his own career prospects. When Nell emerges, ready for her date, the Chief confronts the officer and kicks him out. After learning the truth, Nell comes to terms with the fact that he wasn’t genuinely interested in her due to her weight. Just then, Angie arrives and invites Nell to join her for a night out, which she gladly accepts despite the earlier disappointment.
