Episode Overview
Katie and Julie head out for a double date while Samantha insists everyone make space for her imaginary friend, Debbie Jo. The Chief thinks Samantha is losing it and discusses the possibility of sending her to a therapist with Nell. When things escalate with Debbie Jo, the Chief decides to ground Samantha and pretends to confront Debbie Jo in her room, assuring Samantha he won’t send her to a shrink. Upset, Samantha runs to Nell, declaring her hatred for her dad and revealing that Debbie Jo is her only real friend since Julie is too busy with dating. Nell encourages Samantha to say goodbye to Debbie Jo, and with a heavy heart, she places her in a jewelry box, promising the picture of her mom will keep watch over her. Nell comforts Samantha, who finally lets go of Debbie Jo.
