Episode Overview

After attending a night school class about how television can drive families apart, Nell decides that the family should take a break from watching TV for one night. Just as they agree to this, Simpson shows up to inform the Chief about an exciting special Wednesday night football game. Meanwhile, Addy arrives to coax Nell into watching Dynasty to discover who Alexi's lover is. Despite these temptations, Nell and the Chief stick to their promise and gather to discuss their lives. Meanwhile, Grandpa fakes using a hearing aid while secretly listening to the game on the radio, and Nell cunningly hides a portable TV in a pie to sneak peeks while pretending to heat it up. Ultimately, Nell discovers Grandpa and the Chief's antics, and everyone learns of her sneaky behavior, leading them all to resume watching TV together.
