Episode Overview

While Nell and her mother are at the bank to deposit items into Mama Maybelle's safe deposit box, a con artist approaches Nell, claiming to be a detective. He warns her about a thief in the bank and convinces her to withdraw her mother’s money, promising to apprehend the scammer outside if she doesn’t follow. After he fails to return, Nell realizes she’s been deceived, leaving Mama Maybelle furious. Later, at Marty's restaurant, the con man arrives with a date. Nell demands her money back, instructs a waiter to notify the police, and brings Addy to take pictures. Initially skeptical, the officer's doubts vanish when the con man is exposed after conflicting names are revealed.
