Gimme a Break! (1981)

Episode Overview

Nell lends Addy some cash to purchase a new dress for an upcoming gala, confident that she’ll quickly repay her. However, as time goes on, residents in the building start to exploit Addy’s generosity, frequently asking her for financial help, which she willingly provides. While everyone praises Addy for her kindness, Nell grows frustrated with Addy’s failure to return the money she borrowed. Seeking counsel from Marty, Nell is advised to create a formal agreement, but she reacts angrily and tears it up. Eventually, Addy does manage to pay Nell back.
