Episode Overview
Nell makes the decision to leave her job so she can spend more time with her boys. However, she ultimately opts to search for a new position instead. Joey is thrilled when he hears the news. Just then, the phone rings with an invitation for Nell to attend an interview. She asks Joey to look after Matthew, but he's still upset with him. Nell then calls Matthew, who shows up ready for a guitar lesson that Nell had forgotten about. Joey refuses to take him. Nell's mother encourages her to let go and allow Joey to mature. While discussing this with Joey, they hear a puppy whimpering from Matthew's room. They discover a puppy abandoned in a box outside on the fire escape, and as Nell tries to bring it inside, her shoe gets stuck. She calls for Maggie, but she's afraid of heights. A fireman arrives and uses a crowbar to free her shoe. He reveals that Joey had asked him to bring it. Nell then tells Joey he can take
