Episode Overview

Max starts working as a telemarketer, not realizing her dishonest boss is a con artist selling fake subliminal tapes. While on the phone with Khadijah, she gets arrested. Meanwhile, Overton sets up a system to record the girls' phone calls, hoping to catch a prank caller. When Max's public defender turns out to be incompetent, she decides to take her case into her own hands. She argues that her boss was the only one who fled, suggesting the employees didn't know they were breaking the law. She also uses Overton's recording to prove she was making a personal call when the police arrived. The judge dismisses her case, and the other employees ask her to represent them too.
