Episode Overview
Max drives her friends mad by spending all her time at their place, even forwarding her calls there. They celebrate when Evans and Bell finally reach out to her about returning to work. Yet, Max feels disheartened by losing her clients and office, realizing that the partners won’t let her forget her mistake. She ends up quitting on her first day. Khadijah urges her to reconsider, suggesting she should ask for her job back, but Max insists that something better will come along. After a week of rejection, she finally lands an interview, which goes well, but the firm chooses another candidate. As her confidence wanes, her friends reassure her of her skills. In a moment of vulnerability, Max calls Evans and Bell to apologize but hangs up without saying anything. Meanwhile, Overton and Regine become convinced that an elderly neighbor of Max’s is involved in a murder. Kyle finally speaks to the woman and uncovers the truth.
