Avedon attends court for his preliminary hearing, while Blalock (Kevin Tighe) thinks he has uncovered a witness who can undermine Cross's alibi regarding the night of the murder. At the same time, Appleton is representing a Jewish teenager (Maury Ginsberg) facing charges for committing a hate crime. Following a dangerous turn in her sister's murder investigation, Julie Costello arrives at the law firm to meet with Hoffman, concerned that her own safety is now at risk.
