In the courtroom, Avedon anxiously awaits the decision on whether his bail will be revoked. Meanwhile, Spivak represents Billy Maddox, a man facing charges for a murder that took place 17 years earlier. As the events unfold, Julie suffers a drug overdose from prescriptions given by Dr. Lester, leading Hoffman to suspect the doctor might have hidden agendas for keeping his female patients heavily medicated.
