Vince comes to terms with his strong desire to reconcile with Penny, prompting him to make the bold move of visiting her home under the pretense of returning her handkerchief. He’s well aware that her parents might not be thrilled about his presence. This turns out to be an understatement, as he faces a challenging encounter with Penny's domineering mother, Daphne. She makes it clear how she has always perceived him and expresses her belief that Penny deserves someone far better.
