The Virginian (1962)

Episode Overview

The Virginian stumbles upon young Lon Mortison, who holds him at gunpoint. Lon is on a mission to find a gambler he blames for his father's suicide and has already shot a man who tried to intervene. To persuade Lon to put down his weapon, the Virginian shares a flashback about Trampas's arrival at Shiloh Ranch, where he sought revenge against Judge Garth for the death of his father, whom Garth had killed in self-defense. This story helps Lon understand the consequences of his choices and ultimately leads him to surrender to the Sheriff.
