Episode Overview

Alva Lowell (Diana Millay), an enchanting newcomer, comes to Medicine Bow after purchasing the Lazy K Ranch. She enlists the help of a hesitant Steve Hill to serve as her foreman. Trouble arises when Jess Carver (Peter Breck), Alva's ex-business associate, shows up and is fatally shot by Steve under suspicious circumstances, seemingly in self-defense. As a result, Steve finds himself in custody, facing trial with the assistance of Judge Garth's ally, attorney Ebberly Packis (Paul Fix).
