The Virginian (1962)
S03E13 Portrait of a Widow
Episode Overview
Charles Boulanger, a portrait artist with a questionable French accent, bids farewell to Betsy Garth and her friend Maggie Mencken, who are in Chicago. Maggie, closely connected to Judge Garth, who manages her late husband's estate, becomes the target of Charles's charm as he claims he’ll paint her portrait. Fleeing from gangsters due to a gambling debt, he arrives in Medicine Bow, where he discovers a valuable artwork previously owned by Maggie's late husband. As he plots to forge the painting and sell the original to clear his debts, he faces two obstacles: his deepening feelings for Maggie and Judge Garth’s growing suspicions about his true identity.
