Episode Overview

Sam Horn (John Lupton), a grieving widower, finds himself at odds with Colonel John Briscoe (Edward Binns), whose railway project has encroached on Sam's property, offering him outdated compensation. Tensions rise as the Colonel clashes with his son, Scott (Buck Taylor), over Scott's former love, Peg Dineen (Laurel Goodwin), who has returned to town. Complicating matters, Peg, believed to be a widow with a small child, catches Sam's eye. When Scott is shot, Sam faces murder charges, claiming self-defense. It falls to Judge Garth to unravel the complex motives at play and clear Sam's name in court.
