Episode Overview
Matt Denning (Robert Lansing), a loyal friend of Emmett Ryker, is convinced of his younger brother Will's (Andrew Prine) innocence and breaks him out of military prison, inadvertently killing a guard in the process. Joined by Matt's wife (Jan Shepard) and son (Kurt Russell), they flee into a hostile territory inhabited by vengeful Sioux tribesmen, pursued by Ryker, army Sgt. Cohane (Myron Healey), and a team of soldiers. When they are discovered, chaos ensues, leading to Will's death, where he admits his guilt. Heartbroken, Matt realizes his efforts were futile. Despite the guard's accidental death and supportive testimonies, Matt is convicted, and Emmett must enforce the law by handing him over to the Sheriff for incarceration.
