The Virginian (1962)
S04E02 Day of the Scorpion
Episode Overview
Australian rancher Adam Tercell (John Anderson) has purchased a local ranch with plans to raise sheep on open range, threatening the area's viability for cattle grazing. The locals seek to negotiate a designated space for the sheep, but Tercell's aggressive son, Abel (Jon Locke), outright refuses and violently lashes out at a local rancher (Edward Faulkner). This aggression leads to a clash with the Virginian, and during an attempt to intimidate him, Abel accidentally falls and fatally injures himself. When Adam Tercell comes to Medicine Bow seeking justice against the Virginian, his situation becomes more complicated as his daughter Reagen (Maura McGivney) develops feelings for the Virginian. Tensions rise, culminating in a dramatic showdown involving Adam, Reagen, and the local ranchers.
