Episode Overview
David Henderson (Glenn Corbett), a broke ex-Minister grappling with his faith, arrives in Medicine Bow just as tensions rise at a nearby mine over safety concerns. Emmett Ryker urges Judge Garth to help find a resolution. When a mining accident occurs, David joins the rescue efforts but injures his leg in the process. At Shiloh, Betsy Garth cares for him, and they develop a romantic bond. Gaining the miners' respect, David emerges as their leader and calls for a strike to improve conditions. Despite attempts to undermine them with scab labor, Judge Garth helps broker a deal between the miners and owners. David finds renewed purpose and proposes to Betsy. They marry at Shiloh Ranch and embark on a new chapter in Pennsylvania, where David has been assigned to a parish.
