Episode Overview

Charmian encounters Ronnie Biggs on a train, and despite his background as a carpenter and small-time criminal, she finds herself falling for him. Her father, a headmaster, disapproves and forbids her from seeing Ronnie. Defying her father, Charmian leaves home, steals from her job, and goes on the run with Ronnie and his close friend Mike. Once they are caught, Ronnie is sent to prison while Charmian receives a suspended sentence. After her release, they marry, and her pregnancy prompts her father to accept their union. However, unbeknownst to Charmian, Ronnie gets entangled in Bruce Reynolds' scheme for the Great Train Robbery as they try to make a fresh start.
