Episode Overview

After the British surrender, John successfully acquires a long-desired loan from the Dutch and heads back to Paris to manage the peace negotiations. Unable to tolerate being apart from Abigail any longer, he invites her to join him, and she is taken aback by the city's grandeur. Soon, John is named ambassador to England, yet he yearns to return home to help establish the new government and reunite with Abigail and their children. Upon their return, they are greeted with great enthusiasm, but John finds himself reluctantly drawn back into public duty.
