Episode Overview
Uncle Joe has started a band for the newly formed Hooterville Volunteer Fire Department, but their terrible performances are scaring away hotel guests. Joe envisioned using the band to fund a real fire department, but after expressing frustration to Kate, he challenges her to find a better fundraising method. When a donation drive only nets $62, Kate decides they need professional assistance. She plans to reach out to Henry Phillips from a fire equipment company. Uncle Joe resents the idea of bringing in an outsider and insists he can make do with the meager funds, leading him to purchase useless gear. When Mr. Phillips arrives and a mishap occurs due to Joe’s blunders, Kate devises a solution to secure the necessary equipment. However, another of Joe's plans backfires, resulting in the Hooterville train station catching fire.
