Episode Overview

The Cannonball train has come to a halt due to a bird nesting atop its smokestack, where five eggs have been laid. Charley and Floyd are determined to wait until the eggs hatch, which they estimate will take two weeks. When Homer Bedloe learns of the situation, he pretends to support their decision and even publishes an article praising their actions. However, he secretly hopes that the train's inactivity will allow him to shut it down for good. Kate becomes wary of Homer's true intentions after Billie Jo and Betty Jo reveal his scheme, prompting her to devise a plan to protect both the Cannonball and the birds.
