Episode Overview

Homer Bedloe, the notorious foe of the Hooterville Cannonball, returns to Hooterville Valley in a state of utter humiliation and financial ruin. He’s been succeeded by Wilbur Goodfellow, a man who seems to embody everything Bedloe is not. As Bedloe seeks temporary shelter, Goodfellow arrives to assess the spur line and the Cannonball. Following his evaluation, Goodfellow announces ambitious plans for the line, including a significant overhaul of the Cannonball and a loan of a new locomotive. The townsfolk celebrate the news, but after a trip to the cinema in Pixley, Kate uncovers the truth: Bedloe and Goodfellow are conspiring together.
