Episode Overview

As Sheriff Crandall heads off for a fishing getaway, Uncle Joe strikes a deal with Sam, the local justice of the peace, to accommodate the hapless kleptomaniac Eustace Pockle at their hotel. Despite her reservations, Kate reluctantly agrees to let Eustace stay. However, Uncle Joe's strict rules turn the hotel into a makeshift detention center, while Kate and the girls treat Eustace as a guest rather than a convict. Eustace, undeterred, continues his thieving ways. Just as Sheriff Crandall plans to return early to collect Eustace, the thief makes a break for it, leaving everyone anxious to find him before the sheriff arrives.
