Episode Overview

Officer Art McCall is back on duty after an eight-year hiatus due to disability and hits the streets with Malloy and Reed to catch up on the evolving landscape of law enforcement. However, McCall quickly discovers just how much things have shifted. He resorts to outdated, illegal methods while trying to assist a young woman dealing with her ex-con husband, neglects to Mirandize a boy he arrests for robbery, and mishandles the capture of a man with a firearm, who later plants a bomb in his ex-wife's car. This leads to a stern reprimand from Malloy regarding McCall's reliance on obsolete and unlawful procedures.
