Episode Overview

Malloy and Reed apprehend a down-on-her-luck woman for shoplifting baby supplies, but she manages to slip away during a commotion at the precinct. Later, they discover that she and her husband had actually kidnapped the baby, unable to conceive on their own. While investigating a dispute between the woman and her landlord, they uncover that her husband had stolen his own car and that the landlord allegedly made an extortion demand of $2,000 for the baby. The officers track down the husband at a rail yard. In a separate incident, Reed finds himself briefly held at gunpoint by a burglary suspect, but cleverly outsmarts him and signals for Malloy’s assistance.
