Reed's case against a drug dealer named Sparky got dismissed in court, leading Sgt. MacDonald to offer him a 30-day stint with the Vice squad for some hands-on experience. Eager to learn, Reed accepts, but the gritty lifestyle and training begin to create tension between him and Jean. As he dives deeper into the Vice world, he stumbles upon a disturbing bust involving a man attempting to exchange drugs for photos of young boys, which weighs heavily on him. Meanwhile, Malloy and Officer Woods work together to take down two drug dealers, but during the operation, Malloy is shot and wounded, prompting Reed to come to his rescue.
